One that is so so easy, takes barely any time to make, and that of course, still delivers all the flavor? Well, we’re here for it friends. It’s right here.
Your answer for those nights when you’re feeling a little extra lazy, not wanting to grate cucumbers, yet still craving the flavorful tang of tzatziki.
Enjoy it drizzled across loaded sweet potato fries, slathered in a mushroom gyro, or as a delicious dip with cucumber and pita bread. Endless possibilities, my friend.
What is Tzatziki Sauce?
Before we get more into the lazy version of this magical sauce, let’s cover what tzatziki sauce is.
Authentic tzatziki sauce is a Greek yogurt sauce that is traditionally made with, well, of course, yogurt, grated and stained cucumbers, and fresh herbs – mainly dill – olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, and salt. It’s served cold with a variety of dishes.
What makes this version so easy?
This is my inspired attempt at an easy “lazy” tzatziki sauce when I don’t necessarily have time to grate and drain cucumbers (which, if I’m being honest, is most often).
It fits the chilled, creamy yogurt sauce bill. It’s got the herbs (dried, because, again, this is my lazy version), the lemon juice (fresh here, because ALWAYS FRESH PLZ), olive oil, and garlic.
The punchy, tangy flavor delivers in all aspects. And if you have a little more time? Well, of course, you can grate and drain the cucumbers to add in and make it a real tzatziki sauce.
